Tonto Natural Bridge

George and I had visited Tonto Natural Bridge a couple of years ago, but as with so many places it was under repair so we planned a return trip to fully enjoy the area.
Our intrepid traveling companions were with us again, so it was double the fun.

Just a little background on the bridge.
It is believed to be the largest travertine bridge in the world.
Regardless of it's place in the records book it is a beautiful area. We really enjoyed splashing down the stream and cooling off.
The walkway approaching the Bridge
The waterfall above the Bridge
The waterfall gives a gentle spray much appreciated on hot days.
The inside of the bridge looks like it was carved and scraped. Lots of swallows nest in
Approaching the opening to the Bridge
Inside the Bridge and looking back out
Looking from inside the Bridge down the stream trail we will be hiking
There's plenty of moisture inside the Bridge
This is from the "back" side of the Bridge looking into where we were
Another view of the "back" side of the Bridge
Arleen and Sharon enjoying the view
Looks like another committe meeting doesn't it?
If you look to the right you'll see Arleen and Sharon still sitting there
Don bravely lets Sharon lead. Looks like they're lost in the jungle.
This is another waterfall along the trail. The ferns and columbine were so pretty
Cute little javalina - a true camera hog. No pun intended
Not to be outdone by his buddy this one wants his picture taken
They're under the apricot tree scarfing up the fallen fruit
Century plants along the highway were in flowing in a beautiful yellow-orange
